What's the big deal?

Why is everyone so stirred over this war in Iraq? It's not like we haven't killed before.

Just look at how little concern we have for our own lives. We're killing ourselves at an astonishing rate. Look at the heart attack and cancer death rates. Not to mention the numbers we kill on our streets. Or the slow deaths we suffer at the hands of loved ones whose cutting words sap the life out of us. The list goes on and on.

Killing is all we know how to do. Roberta Flack had it right. We're killing us softly with our song of violence upon ourselves and each other. So why should Iraq get a free pass?

Besides, it keeps El Presidente busy so he can't do any real harm here in our country. That's good enough for us, isn't it?
