A Matter of Faith

Sometimes we just have to act on faith, following the inner voice no matter what our thoughts, fears, or self-interests say otherwise. It's not easy, at least at first. But the more you realize there's a light that shines even in the darkness, it gets a little easier to take that step.

Right now we're having one of those moments here in South Florida. The whispers of my soul are carrying the day. Telling me to trust in Providence, that my willingness to follow its guidance and risk the oncoming storm is more important than life itself. And funny, my family agrees.

Come this time tomorrow I may be singing a different tune. But I trust my inner voice -- and the power from which it speaks -- will carry me through. Just as I hope you will have faith to follow your inner voice if you should face difficult days ahead.

What's in it for ME?

Isn't that what we all want to know? What's in it for us? Doesn't much matter what "it" is. It seems a fact of life that there's always a component of self-interest. Whether it's for money. Fame. Good feelings. Whatever. It's a given.

So, if we do good for others, what's in it for us? Sure, there are good feelings. But is that all? Is there something more that comes with living the Golden Rule?

I've got my ideas, but that's not important at the moment. What matters is what's right for your experience of this life. Your inner master knows. Go inside. Find out for yourself.

Hint: When you do, you won't have to choose between serving them and serving you any more.

Allowing the Moment

When you allow all things to be as they are created (including yourself), there will be no unfulfilled expectations to bring disappointment or discontent.
